KidsFest is a one-day show sponsored by the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce and held at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville.  Normally held in early March, this year's show had to be postponed until early April due to snow on the originally scheduled date.

Troop 868 has participated in and assisted with the show since it's very first year.  And we were there again in 2008, helping with last minute logistics, moving equipment, sweeping floors, mopping up spills, and emptying trash cans throughout the day.  We also had a display booth that offered information about the Scouting program --- information about Cub Scout Pack 868 for elementary-aged boys and information about Boy Scout Troop 868 for middle and high school guys.

At the same time part of our troop was helping at KidsFest, other Scouts from our unit were providing a color guard detail to lead the annual season-opening parade for the Okolona Little League Baseball Association.

Julia Brown, troop mom, Troop Committee Member, and Den Leader in Cub Pack 868 helped staff the troop's booth at KidsFest with Tenderfoot Scout Dalton.  Numerous other Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and leaders from both Pack 868 and Troop 868 worked shifts throughout the day, but a memory card failure caused those photos to be lost.
Troop 868 Boy Scouts Nick (with American Flag), Chris (with Kentucky flag), and Dylan (with troop banner) led a color guard that included Cub Scout Hunter from Pack 868 and Cub Scout Preston from Pack 848.  Troop 868 has supplied a color guard for the Okolona Little League Parade for several years.
