KidsFest is an annual event held at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville.  The free show is produced by the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce and attracts several thousand families.  The event is targeted at families having elementary-aged children and showcases businesses and groups who offer services for that age group.  Cub Scouting obviously fits right in!

Troop 868 has been participating in KidsFest since it's inception.  Boy Scouts perform a variety of support tasks from passing out goodie bags and door prize tickets at the front doors to wearing character costumes to cleaning up spills and messes.  Whatever the folks in charge ask us to do, we do.

While the Boy Scouts are hard at work, the Cub Scouts and leaders from Pack 868 staff an information booth to distribute literature and talk to interested folks about the Scouting programs available at Pack 868 and/or Troop 868.

Scouts Spencer and Chase took a turn manning the troop's information display about Disabilities Awareness.  The display helped the boys fullfill a requirement toward a merit badge. Chase wore socks over his hands to simulate how a person with a hand injury of impaired fine motor control might struggle to perform simple tasks like buttoning a shirt.
Adam and D.J. spent some time working at the main entrance.  They handed out programs and tickets for door prize drawings. Pack 868 had a booth next to the troop's display where they passed out information about Cub and Boy Scouting.
